Eric Stein, M.D.

Dr. Stein is a board certified otolaryngologist/head and neck surgeon practicing in all areas of ENT (Otolaryngology). He has over 25 years' experience providing medical and surgical care for the complete spectrum of ENT problems including ear disorders, sinus issues, neck including thyroid problems, and cosmetic nasal surgery (rhinoplasty). He is a diplomat and member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and is an Instructor in Otology and Laryngology at Harvard Medical School.He attended Brown University where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. He graduated with honors from Harvard Medical School and trained as a surgical intern at Stanford University Medical Center. He then did his residency at Harvard Medical School/Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary. After graduating from Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, he joined his senior partner here in the Chelmsford area (and now in the Nashua area as well) at Mass ENT Associates, while continuing to remain on active staff as a clinical instructor at Harvard/MEEI/Lahey Medical Center. Recent honors include being named again as one of the Top Doctors in America in ENT, receiving a 2016 Patient Choice Award, and being recognized with the Compassionate Doctor Award. Dr. Stein serves as the Chief of the ENT Department at Lowell General Hospital. He enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters traveling, sailing, kayaking, singing, and playing guitar.

 


Arthur Lauretano, M.D., F.A.C.S.


Arthur M. Lauretano, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a board certified otolaryngologist practicing in the Greater Boston area and an Instructor in Otology and Laryngology at Harvard Medical School. He grew up in Medford, Massachusetts. He graduated Boston University’s Six-Year Medical Program Summa Cum Laude, with a BA in Medical Sciences and an MD. He was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, the Medical Honor Society. He was awarded the Dean Eleanor Tyler Award (Top Six-year Medical Student), Dora Savenor Memorial Prize for Excellence in Surgery, and Internal Medicine Award. After completing medical school, Dr. Lauretano completed his general surgical internship at Boston’s Beth Israel Hospital, where he received the Critical Care Award. He then entered and completed his residency in Otolaryngology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary/Harvard Medical School, finishing in 1993. In January 1997, Dr. Lauretano moved his practice to the Greater Lowell Area at Mass. ENT Associates, where he continues to practice. He is currently President of the Medical Staff at Lowell General Hospital and is the Medical Director of the Lowell General Multidisciplinary Head and Neck Program and Clinic. He continues to teach at Harvard Medical School and also at Tufts Medical School. His clinical interests include thyroid surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, laryngeal surgery and voice disorders, including professional voice. Outside of medicine Dr. Lauretano enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and coaching soccer.
 

 


Vijay K. Nayak, M.D.


Dr. Nayak graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Summa Cum Laude. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society at Albany Medical college and graduated  Summa Cum Laude with Distinction in Research. At Albany Medical he received a number of honors and awards for his academic achievements. He completed his surgical internship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and his ENT residency at the Harvard Combined program in Otolaryngology. He joined Mass ENT Associates immediately after finishing residency in 2005 and is happy to return to the area as he grew up in nearby Groton. He is the past President of the Massachusetts Society of Otolaryngology (MSO) and currently the managing partner of Mass ENT.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.

 


Jessica Hootnick, M.D.

Dr. Hootnick grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts and completed her undergraduate studies at Amherst College, where she was a member of the Amherst College Women’s Varsity Soccer Team. While a student athlete at Amherst, she was recognized as a New England Small College Athletic Conference All-Academic Team Selection in soccer.  After spending a year performing research at Boston Children’s Hospital, she then obtained her medical degree at the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine.  During medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and was recognized with several academic awards.  After graduating from medical school, Dr. Hootnick completed her residency training in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Illinois in Chicago.  She is delighted to return to the Greater Boston area to join Mass ENT Associates. She enjoys spending time with her husband and golden retrievers, traveling, the outdoors, the ocean, running, and soccer.



 


 


Vishnu Kannabiran, M.D.


Dr. Kannabiran graduated summa cum laude from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the accelerated 7-year BS/MD program with Albany Medical College. While attending medical school, he was selected as a National Institutes of Health Clinical Research Training Program Fellow and spent one year in Bethesda, Maryland at the NIH studying therapies for head and neck cancer. He then completed a surgical internship and residency in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Boston University Medical Center Program. During this time, his training involved rotations at Boston Children's Hospital, Lahey Health, Boston VA system, and Advanced Facial Aesthetics. At the completion of his residency, he was awarded the Jalisi Teaching Award for outstanding teaching to medical students and residents. His clinic interests include voice and swallowing disorders, nasal obstruction and sinus disorders, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, and pediatric otolaryngology. Outside of medicine, he enjoys spending time with his family, singing, playing the violin, and playing soccer and tennis. Dr. Kannabiran grew up in Wayland, MA and is excited to serve the Greater Lowell community through Mass ENT Associates.

 

 

 

 


Ashley Swanson, P.A-C


Ashley is a board certified physician assistant, who joined Mass ENT in March of 2014, and has been a welcome addition. She enjoys treating a broad spectrum of ENT related problems, and works closely with the physicians here to ensure the utmost in patient diagnostic care. She graduated from Wheaton College and then pursued a healthcare career in nursing. Wanting to learn more, Ashley then decided to return to school, and received her MPA from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science in 2013. In addition to ENT care, Ashley enjoys performing in the theater and spending time with her husband and young daughter.

 

 



 

 


 

Katie Harrington, Au.D, Chief Audiologist

Dr. Katie Harrington was born in Vermont. You will see her New England values in everything she does. She attended the University of Rochester majoring in Brain and Cognitive Sciences, and then transferred to Elmira College in New York to fulfill her passion with ears and hearing. Dr. Harrington went on to earn her Doctorate in Audiology from Northeastern University. She settled in New Hampshire to practice Audiology and served as the President of the New Hampshire Academy of Audiology from 2011-2012. In 2011, she earned the hearing care professional of the year for New England. She is currently on the board for the Massachusetts Academy of Audiology. Dr. Harrington has been with Mass ENT Associates since 2011.

 

 


 




 


Amanda Marquis, Au.D. Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Amanda Marquis grew up in Merrimack, NH. She went to Penn State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She then continued her studies at the University of South Florida and received her Doctorate in Audiology. She was awarded a traineeship with the Central Texas Veteran's Health Care System in Temple, TX where she received specialized training in the areas of hearing aid devices and tinnitus.
Dr. Marquis is very passionate about providing quality care to her patients and educating others on the impact of hearing loss. She has experience working in private practice settings and the VA population. She is a licensed audiologist in both New Hampshire and Massachusetts and is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA). Dr. Marquis has been with Mass ENT Associates since 2013.


 

 

 


Emily Troutman, Au.D. Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Emily Troutman received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of New Hampshire in 2005, majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders as well as obtaining a minor in Deaf Studies/American Sign Language. Dr. Troutman enrolled in a vigorous 4 year graduate program at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where she obtained her doctorate in audiology in 2013. During her last year, an externship/residency program was completed at Heywood Hospital in Gardner, MA, where Dr. Troutman learned additional skills, including advanced diagnostic testing, digital hearing aid technology, and central auditory processing. While in graduate school, Dr. Troutman devoted additional research time developing a reliable hearing test for "hard to test" adult and pediatric patients that were previously unable to get accurate test results with today's traditional audiology test methods. Dr. Troutman is licensed to practice audiology in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.


 


 


Jessi Lee Figlewicz, Au.D. Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Jessi Figlewicz grew up in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Columbia College, Chicago and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Audio Arts and Acoustics with a concentration in live sound engineering. After graduating from Columbia College, she continued her education at University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and received her doctorate in audiology. Dr. Figlewicz is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and she has experience in both a hospital and private practice setting. She is licensed in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, which allows her to provide comprehensive and quality hearing care at both of our offices.
